Any photographs of the Eagle Rock Hill Climb are indeed rare. WestOrangeHistory.com is pleased to announce that we have two original surviving negatives that are over 100 years old of the event in 1902. The picture seen above and also on our website is one of those photos and it was used to make the rare postcard depicting the event also seen on our website. The second photo is a similar view taken on the same day shortly after the first photo. Both photos contain incredible detail. What is also amazing is that the house seen in the photo on the corner of Main Street (then Valley Road) and Eagle Rock Avenue is still standing and home to the West Orange Pharmacy today.
